\nPaul Rever
e Williams’s inspirational story has fascinated historians for the simple
fact that his journey was so improbable. The orphan son of an African Amer
ican fruit-and-vegetable merchant\, he was repeatedly told he had no chanc
e of ever realizing his childhood dream of becoming an architect. And yet\
, he ignored the naysayers to reach the pinnacle of his chosen profession\
, while overcoming widespread discrimination throughout early- to mid-twen
tieth century America. The odds against him succeeding were enormous.

July 7th at 7:00pm. Ken Bernstein\, the Ci ty Planner for the City of Los Angeles and a national advocate for histori c preservation shares how Los Angeles has led the nation in historic prese rvation and shares how other cities can do the same.
\nLos Ange les has an image as the “City of the Future”―a city always at the cutting edge of change―but also as a “throwaway metropolis” that cares little abou t its history or architectural legacy. Yet the reality is quite different. Over the past decade\, the City of Los Angeles has developed one of the m ost successful historic preservation programs in the nation\, culminating with the completion of the nation’s most ambitious citywide survey of hist oric resources.

\nHaving been approached by many guests\, patrons\, and employees over the years\, Keith has heard it all. “Two tourists walked up to me and asked how they could get inside the mansion for the tour. When I told them the interior i s closed to the public one replied\, ‘Oh\, because we saw a man in period clothing staring out the window and we thought he was part of the tour.’” This marks just one encounter of 237 paranormal stories documented at Grey stone Mansion. Keith spent nearly three years researching the supernatural activity at the estate. With 86 interviews\, including guests of the park \, City staff\, police officers\, movie crew personnel\, and janitorial se rvices\, Ghosts of Greystone – Beverly Hills promises you a riveting histo ry and ghostly encounters.
