WSHPHS New Member Spotlight: Dan & Diana Braker

Hello WSHPHS community! We are the Brakers: Dan, Diana, and Caleb. Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Dan is president of Breakthrough Research, a market research firm based in mid-Wilshire. Dan loves basketball, Tom Petty, and making spreadsheets for everything. Diana, a rock climber and hobby beekeeper, was born in Taiwan and raised in San Francisco. She was the founder/owner of Poppy + Rose restaurant and the Peaches food trucks, before selling her businesses and becoming a SAHM to Caleb, who loves berries and books (he calls them “boos”) and is fully in his toddler era. Our family purchased our 1921 historic brick tudor three years ago (ask us about the book/documentary about the man who built our house and the incredibly old photograph we found of him behind a bookcase! And the cobblestone ground we found underneath our powder bath!). We’ve been enjoying building our community here in Windsor Square, and Diana is excited to continue volunteering for WSHPHS events and meeting other folks interested in local history! We take regular walks to Larchmont Village and Robert Burns Park and look forward to seeing you all around the neighborhood!
