The original location was on Restaurant Row on La Cienega Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California, and was opened in 1938 by Lawrence L. “Lawry” Frank and Walter Van de Kamp. Founded in 1905, With its roots deep in Hollywood history, the Club property is the site of the former Hollywood School for Girls (1908-1932), which is still standing on the property. Jean Harlow, Carole Lombard, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Joel McCrae, the daughters of Cecil B. DeMille, David Selznick, Louis B. Mayer and many other Golden Era legends attended. Oscar winning costume designer Edith Head was a teacher. Actor Charles Laughton taught Shakespeare here.

Pann’s is a coffee shop and restaurant known for its history, role in movies, and distinctive architecture. The restaurant was opened by husband and wife George and Rena Poulos in 1958.^[1][2] It is also known for its neon sign,^[3]Googie architecture, and 1950s decor.^[4] The building and its iconic neon sign were designed by architects Eldon Davis and Helen Liu Fong of the Armet & Davis architectural firm.^[1] Pann’s remains one of the best preserved examples of Davis’ Googie designs, according to the Los Angeles Times

355 S. Windsor Boulevard is ground zero once again for All Good Gardens, Great and Small, a tour of five private gardens. This year’s garden tour features five delicious gardens of varying sizes, three in Windsor Square, one in Fremont Place and one just outside Hancock Park on Fuller Avenue. The one on Fuller Ave. is a charming garden attached to a lovely home designed by the one and only Paul Williams.

At 355 S.Windsor Boulevard there is also a lovely garden and at this location our reception committee will greet you. This is where guests and docents will receive their wristbands and programs with the addresses on the tour. Walk-ins can pay by credit card, cash, or check for admittance to the tour as well as membership to the Historical Society. This location also has refreshments, a Prosecco happy hour and a silent auction.

“The Merry Homes Of Windsor Boulevard.” 

This year we are proud to feature three outstanding homes built a hundred years ago and not previously shown before on our annual home tours. One is a mansion frozen in time and filled with antique furniture and vintage items. The second home is the original carriage house belonging to the first, separated in the 1950s and filled with fantastic paintings and other objet d’art.  The third home is a beautifully decorated manse updated just a few years ago with a surprise in the basement. The fourth home was once occupied by Dorothy Chandler.

Your tour will begin at 355. S. Windsor blvd. where you will get your wristband and program. After your tour of the three homes you will return to this location for food, raffles and an early happy hour. Don’t forget to bring cash for the raffles.
